Startup, Innovation & Investments

Since the legislation on innovative startups was introduced in 2012, I sustain that on the one hand, there is an urgent need for a deep change in policies supporting startups and on the other, there is a need to continue to strongly assert the fact that startups are a fundamental component of our economy: they can be criticized, the system as a whole can also be critized, you can even slip into irony, but it’s not possible to think, even as a joke, that startups are not important. Criticisms are good, but they should be constructive and possibly even proactive. What is not good is criticism that leads to the ridicule of startups and makes them look like a passing folkloristic phenomenon, which are useless to support with decision. The concept, the philosophy, the paradigm of startups is the key factor. The most advanced economies in the world have already understood it and it is right and proper that Italy understands it too.

Those who criticize startups in a non-constructive way are those who are afraid of change, those who are afraid of the future and of losing acquired rights, position privileges, power. Those who criticize startups in a non-constructive way want to keep our country in the swamp of mediocrity and peripheral marginality. Those who criticize startups and their ecosystem do well when they say that there is the need to get out of the current impasse and find a way so that, also in Italy, it will be possible to run new generation businesses in a structured way, which does not only mean doing new things but above all doing them in a new way. Therefore it is positive when someone criticizes constructively and participates directly and indirectly in the construction of an ecosystem that should always be stronger and healthier and which should also grow in terms of financial endowment, which will benefit not only the individual startup, but also all the players in the ecosystem, including incubators, accelerators, companies and even realities such as Startupbusiness.

I therefore applaud the initiative taken by Management Innovation to acquire its own financial capacity in a healthy way thanks to a crowdfunding campaign, through which it will develop innovative entrepreneurial initiatives. Thanks to actors like these it will be possible to emerge from mediocrity.
