Tech4Safe is a start-up specialised in IoT for health and safety at work. Tech4Safe addresses large manufacturing companies that are struggling to guarantee a high standard of workers’ health and safety, while keeping the pace of growing demand for production (and productivity). Despite these efforts, still a high number of accidents are registered every year, with regulations becoming more strict. This is heavily impacting production capacity, especially for SMEs who can not afford large integration projects to introduce advanced safety technologies.
By using IoT technologies to create a Digital Twin of the shop floor, AI to extract process intelligence at scale and real-time services to interact, Tech4Safe serves at the same time the needs of workers’ safety and production capacity increase.
Tech4Safe uses Real-Time Locating Systems to locate and track in real-time workers throughout the industrial plant. Workers have to wear little tracking devices (TAGs) that can be attached to existing personal protective equipment. Some antennas installed on the ceiling will be able to locate with sub-meter accuracy the positioning and movements of each worker.
Advanced real-time services are then delivered by Tech4Safe solution, such as:
– real-time monitoring and control of collision risk between workers and moving vehicles
– area monitoring and control (e.g. worker approaching dangerous/hazardous areas)
– real-time monitoring and control of equipment to avoid misuse, theft, wrong or dangerous placements
– social distancing and contact tracing features.
Besides real-time location-based services, the system collects historical data in order to better organize workflows and manage safety risks.
