GAIA was born from the passion for fashion of a teenager, Arianna Pozzi, who at the age of 16 created an application presenting a solution to a dilemma that afflicts many of her peers and not only, that is what to wear to feel at their best. Through the use of Artificial Intelligence technologies that make it possible to create a highly scalable solution, the user’s mood and the emotions that the products arouse are taken into consideration, to define customized outfit proposals suitable for the mood of the person at the specific moment in which she needs this support and for the purposes she sets herself.
The dynamics that come to life in the world of GAIA create a collaborative ecosystem that sees the participation of users, brands, and emerging stylists where everyone contributes to the creation of a new way of interpreting and communicating fashion through actions linked in a virtuous way that articulate in the following steps:
-The user receives personalized outfit proposals from an entity he trusts;
-Brands can propose their products in an innovative, stimulating way for purchases and receive innovative feedback on them;
-The user thanks his virtual friend for the support by giving her virtual fashion products, made by emerging designers who thus have a showcase for their creations made at virtually no cost.
The implementation of the project began in 2019 and it immediately attracted the attention of the scientific world with the entry into the team of two professors from the Roma3 University and the support of leading players from the business world.
Under the direction of the founder, the strong commitment and professional experience of the team has made it possible to create an application that since the release of the first services in March 2020 has had an incredible growth in users supported by the virality of videos published by girls from the GAIA community on Tik Tok. The percentage of users who register compared to those who visit the site stands at 33%. Over 150,000 outfit recommendations have been provided through the platform so far and around 130,000 products from 140 brands are already present and around 2,500 users have populated their virtual closet by uploading a total of over 25,000 products in their possession to the platform. In September, a partnership was signed with Yoox, the world’s leading fashion e-commerce platform.
The full featured version, the mobile app for IOS and Android devices and the English version preparatory to the launch of the app on the European market will be released by Q4/2020.
During 2021, advanced AI services will be released, such as the possibility of inspiring outfit proposals to the tastes and looks of celebrities or other users of the platform and fashion trends, and the Italian market will be consolidated, supported by first approaches in Europeans countries. Subsequently, starting from 2022, the focus on the various international markets will take place. In the medium term, a line of GAIA Branded products is expected to be launched by 2023 and, in perspective, by 2025, a line of smart fabrics products that are well combined with the virtual/real fusion present in GAIA.
